I must admit I have definitely slacked when it comes to exploring film. And I’m obviously no pioneer in this field. I just picked up an old film camera awhile back and thought I’d give it a shot.
But there are more important things happening in the world. Hope you’re all staying safe.
Recently, I developed rolls of film that had been sitting on my desk. I started shooting even more. And maybe I fell in love with the art again.
Here’s where I struggle: I don’t necessarily trust myself yet. Though, I’m getting closer to that point. I’m starting to make sense of it all and have some faith in the process and my abilities.
I love film because it adds a depth to photography that you miss out on in digital. It adds a layer of purpose and skill that I can’t quite describe any other way.
I obviously still love digital so much, primarily for the instant feedback and the insane quality. So I won’t be throwing out the DSLRs anytime soon. I’ll just be spending more time focusing.
